Why Feasting Table?

Everyone needs to be fed.

As ministers and leaders in ministry we all have something we bring to the table -
a natural desire to want to feed people with our time, energy, passion, knowledge, & resources.
So, we give and give.
We shop for the food, prepare the food, set the table,
and we take it on as our calling.
Once our time, energy, passion, knowledge, resources are devoured
we pick up the dishes, clean them,
and do it all over again.
The problem with that we grow exhausted in the grind.
The task of keeping the table full becomes overwhelming.
We forget why we’re making the food in the first place and who we are feeding.
Our relationships with the people we are feeding are being put on the back burner,
because our focus becomes producing something to put on that table.
All of the sudden you are left with giving, giving, giving,
so much so that you forget to examine what people truly need
and recognize that you need to be fed as well.

What we need is a feasting table.

How can we tap into the abilities of our community and what they can bring to the table?
What people are we inviting around the table to break bread alongside us?
Who are we forgetting to invite to join us at the table?
What food are we going to serve?
How can we make sure that you are truly fed alongside those who are at the table with you?
Feasting Table is created to provide resources and tools to those who want to reexamine how to minister to themselves and minister with others to the community.

So that when we gather together to feast,
we can do so with joy and energy in our hearts.
